Hello blog! This has been such a crazy week so far! I have been doing my best to limit my screen time, but I have run into many unavoidable obstacles. School is completely virtual right now, so I have to be on my computer to be present on Zoom in all of my classes. Sadly, this means countless hours on my computer that I can not avoid. This week I also had virtual pom tryouts! I had a virtual clinic on zoom to prepare for the actual tryout video we had to send in! I had to use both my phone and computer to prepare for this tryout. I had to play the routine music from my phone to practice multiple times per day, which was also unavoidable. I also had to film my tryout video submission on my phone which took a long time as well. I also had to download instructional videos of the routine to watch on my phone. Overall, this contributed many hours to my daily screen time.
Despite the countless hours of screen time my schedule has required this week, I have reduced my unnecessary amount of screen time. I have been doing my best to stay away from social media such as Snapchat, Instagram, and Tiktok. I have also been doing my best to reduce my essay messaging and facetime calls. I have also been reducing the amount of television I watch! I have been reducing anytime screen time I possibly can!
I have also been going to bed much earlier! I have gone to bed each night around 11-11:30 pm which is much earlier than my normal sleep schedule! I have been forcing myself to put away my homework by this time so I could get a healthy nights rest. I have also been getting ready for bed a lot earlier so that I can stick to my plan and get to bed by this time!

So far, I have noticed a few changes in my mental wellness this week! I have noticed that since I have not been wasting time using technology for entertainment purposes, I have had more time to get my work done. This has reduced a lot of my stress. This has also caused me to feel more productive and accomplished. Since I have been getting more sleep, I have noticed I have had a lot more energy throughout the day. It is also easier for me to get out of bed in the morning! I feel that throughout the day it has been a lot easier for me to focus on my work and learning as well. I am looking forward to what other benefits this healthy habit will bring! Stay tuned for more updates!
